  	Obituary Notice in the Paltz Independant New Paltz Times 3-4-1896 Wm. Roe, an aged soldier, formerly a member of the 156th Regiment, died at Clintondale on Saturday. Some sixteen or seventeen ex-soldiers attended the funeral on Wednesday. Mr. Roe was one of those taken prisoner at the battle of Cedar Creek and we have heretofore published some of his experienced as a prisoner.
