His eldest son, Colonel Charles Scarburgh, was also the proprietor of much land, owning three thousand and fifty acres on Pnngoteague Creek alone, in 1652. He was a member of the House of Burgesses in 1688 and also in other years; and of the Council from 1691 until his death. In 1692, he was Councillor, Collector of the Eastern. Shore, Naval Officer of the same, and Commander-in-Chief of Accomac, and presiding Justice of that County.

He married the daughter of Governor Bennett, and died in 1703, leaving a number of soils, who were nearly as prominent as their father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
