Mrs. Ann Margaret Lee Johnson, 95, wife of Henry Matthews Johnson of 75 years and a resident of Riverside Shore LifeCare in Parksley, VA, formerly of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2010 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA.
Born on September 24, 1915 in Fayetteville, NC, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy Lee and Martha Irma Parsons Lee. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker. She and her husband owned and operated the former Johnson Funeral Home in Parksley for many years, serving many Eastern Shore families.
Other than her husband, survivors include four children, Margaret Ann Toth and husband Ronnie of Pocomoke, MD, Henrietta Hines and husband George of Easley, SC, H.M. Johnson of Norfolk, VA, and Vesta Nicolls and husband Parks of Onley, VA; nine grandchildren, Durbin Roache, Lee Toth, Martin Toth, Diane Griffeth, Michael Hines, Irma Cooper, H.M. Shreaves, Laura Simmons and Jack Johnson; and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Martha Johnson Roache and a son, John D. Johnson.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Saturday, January 1, 2011, at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at the Parksley Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Friday, December 31, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
