GOLDENHAM -- Harry Roe, 63, of Maple Avenue, a retired locomotive engineer for the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad, died Monday in St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Maybrook July 24, 1910, he was the son of the late Harry and Ella Depew Roe. He was married to Eileen Marie Toner. Mr. Roe, a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers had beena security guard for the Burns Detective Agency.
Survivors include his widow; four daughters, Mrs. William (Madeline) Griffin of Walden, Mrs. Lee (Margaret) Crane of Orange Lake, Mrs. James (Ellen Jane) Turner of Trussville, AL, and Dorothy C. Roe of Miami, FL; a son, Ezra Harry Roe at home; 10 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs Frank (Anna Mae Barrett of Walden, Mrs. Pete (Mildred) Benish of New Windsor, Mrs. James (Mary) Matthews of Temperanceville, VA, and Claude (Sarah) Pilgreen of Houston, TX; seven brothers, Carl of Morro Bay, CA, Charles of Newburgh, Lawrence of Seattle, WA, George and Anthony of Buffalo, William of Warwick and Howard of Wawaii.
