452 Mrs. McKay Expires In Florida Hospital - Mrs. Georgianna McKay, 78, wife of the late Frank McKay and former Newport News resident, died Sunday in Morrell hospital, Lakeland, FL, after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Wednesday at Sanford M.E. church, Accomack County. Interment will be in the family burial ground at Sanford.

Surviving are three sons, A.C. McKay of Newport News, L. Kirk McKay of Lakeland, FL, and W. Howard McKay of Pocomoke City, MD; a daughter, Mrs. Grace Webb of Lakeland, FL; and a sister, Mrs. Edna P. Hussey of Newport News, and a brother, Horace T. Trader, also of Newport News.

Wm. Roe, an aged soldier, formerly a member of the 156th Regiment, died at Clintondale on Saturday. Some sixteen or seventeen ex-soldiers attended the funeral on Wednesday. Mr. Roe was one of those taken prisoner at the battle of Cedar Creek and we have heretofore published some of his experienced as a prisoner.

486 Raymond Horan December 30, 1996 Raymond J. Horan, 99, of East Northampton Street, Wilkes-Barre Township, died Monday at his home Born March 31, 1897 in Wilkes-Barre Township, he was the son of the late Michael T. and Mary Rooney Horan. He graduated from Mansfield State Teachers College and St. Thomas College (now the University of Scranton). He served as a private in the U.S. Army during World War I. For 42 years, he taught in the Wilkes-Barre Township schools and was vice principal of the high school, before retiring. Following retirement, he served as zoning officer for Wilkes-Barre Township. He taught violin for many years, and played with the Scranton Philharmonic Orchestra and others orchestras. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Gorham Horan, on July 1, 1994; brothers, Michael, Thomas, Maurice and Quentin; sisters, Margaret McGinley and Kathryn Swan. Surviving are children, Raymond, Middlesex, N.J.; Mary Claire Smith, Port Republic, Md.; Robert, Clarks Green; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary McGoff, St. Petersburg, Fla.; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday from the McLaughlin Funeral Service, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the Chapel at St. Joseph's Friary, Wilkes-Barre Township. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. 497 SCHOONMAKER, Cornelius Corneliusen, (grandfather of Marius Schoonmaker), a Representative from New York; born in Shawangunk (now Wallkill), Ulster County, N.Y., in June 1745; received a limited schooling; became a surveyor and engaged in agricultural pursuits; member of the committees of vigilance and safety during the Revolutionary War; served in the State assembly 1777-1790; member of the state ratification convention in 1788; elected as an Anti-Administration candidate to the Second Congress (March 4, 1791-March 3, 1793); again a member of the state assembly in 1795; died in Shawangunk, N.Y., in the spring of 1796; interment in Old Shawangunk Churchyard at Bruynswick, in Shawangunk (now Wallkill), Ulster County, N.Y. Schoonmaker, Cornelius Corneliusen (I3696)
