    Wm. Roe, an aged soldier, formerly a member of the 156th Regiment, died at Clintondale on Saturday. Some sixteen or seventeen ex-soldiers attended the funeral on Wednesday. Mr. Roe was one of those taken prisoner at the battle of Cedar Creek and we have heretofore published some of his experienced as a prisoner.

    William married Harriet Elmendorf. Harriet was born in 1817 in Sullivan County, NY; died on 25 May 1882; was buried in New Paltz, Ulster County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
